7 Funny Books to Bring a Smile to Your Face

We recently had the privilege of speaking the American Library Association’s ALTAFF event called “The Laugh’s on Us.”  Speaking with us that evening were six other writers, humorists and comedians, each with a book just out or about to come out.  These authors had us in stitches and because we believe in the power of a hearty belly laugh, we wanted to let you know about their books.  Each one will be available at your local bookstore or from online retailers OR from your local library.  We give a virtual touch of the pearls and a wave to the librarians out there who are making a difference, everyday, in the lives of millions as they continue to make literature, periodicals, movies, research materials and internet access available, free of charge, to all.  Bravo!

So without further ado, here are the books and authors we met at ALA.

  1. Kaye Curren says:

I submit Funny in Farsi by Firoozeh Dumas. I am thinking you may have already had her on your list as it was a national bestseller in 2003.
The book has a double purpose: to be very funny and to educate us on the real Iranian — and Iranian-American not the stereotypes.

Thank you Queen Kaye. We love being able to add to the list of books that make use smile.
