Becoming Imperfectly Happy

She used to think that happiness was a reward you claimed when everything in your life was absolutely perfect. Then she realized that she could have it right now, simply by choosing it and sharing it everyday. - Queenisms™

We make a series of choices every single day. We choose what to wear, whether or not to eat breakfast, what to eat, and a million other choices. We also choose our attitude, intention, tone and voice. We choose to speak with harshness or kindness. We choose to see the good in others or the bad. We choose to work to the best of our abilities or we choose to sit back and do nothing. We choose to help or hurt, to uplift or tear down, to nourish or starve our creative selves and so much more. Happiness is a series of choices, made over and over again, on a daily basis that lead to a state of happiness. That’s why we call happiness a practice. And, practice is something we can all do daily.

Of all of the insightful and powerful ‘reminders’ that “Queen of Your Own Life'” has shared here, this one is by far the most relevant and personal to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I’m printing this out and taping it to my bathroom mirror to read and reflect on daily, until it becomes so ingrained in my thinking that it’s second nature. You’re changing so many lives w/your work, including mine!
