Everyone has bad habits. Queen Cindy used to bit her fingernails, and she still has some bad habits that get in the way every now and then. So how do we break bad habits? Change starts with giving ourselves the love and support to be vulnerable and then offering ourselves permission. Sometimes it takes stopping ourselves, just as we would a child about to touch a flame, and saying out loud, “this is not good for me and I’m going to make a new choice.” Then saying “thank you for making a new choice.” Then adding, “I’m worth the effort it takes to change.” From experience, we can tell you that this is a conversation that often needs to be repeated and again, you are worth the effort. It may feel foolish at first but we promise you, if you look in a mirror and do this as often as is necessary, it will help. Are you willing to be willing to change?
