Queen of Your Own Life

Create | The Battle for You

by Kathy Kinney

Create.  Look in the mirror and repeat after us, “I will open myself to all of the inspiration the world has to offer.  It is possible for me to create the life I want to live.”

I spent some time with a friend last week and she showed me her Vision Book.  For the last five years, since her husband passed away, she had been cutting out pictures from magazines and gluing them in one of those inexpensive composition notebooks we all had in grade school.  Each page was completely full and she was ready to start a new one but was wondering if all of the glue and scissor time been worth it.  As she looked back through the book she found a clear map of her hopes and dreams. Each page was filled with comfort, beauty and images of travel.  Since my friend had just returned from her third trip to Europe we both agreed that the Vision Book had been a great success. She had created a beautiful home and was surrounded by loving family and friends. She was truly living the life that she had envisioned for herself.

Creating a Vision Book gives you a key to understanding what you really want from life.  I also think it acts like a big cosmic invitation for those things to come into your life.  If something as simple as old magazines, a scissors and a cheap notebook can give clarity and help to live a fuller lif,e I say why not.  Let’s have some fun and please pass me the glue stick.

I love this! I was inspired by a story in Jack Canfield’s Chicken Soup for the Soul similar to this, and now I teach workshops on vision boards, creative business plans, and expressive arts. Everything I glued and pasted on my first vision board has come true…! Right down to paying cash for my little blue convertible. I LOVE Queen of Your Own Life! Keep on reminding us of who we are. <3 Hobby
