Declare Your Life a “No Whining Zone”

Life as a No Whining Zone is an original, trademarked digital art piece and writing by authors Kathy Kinney and Cindy Ratzlaff. http://QueenofYourOwnLife.com

She’d heard that happiness was not a destination. It was a journey. So she decided to enjoy every step. And she vowed to make her own trip a “no whining” zone. ~ Queenisms™

Now we’re not naive enough to believe that we can banish all whining from our lives. Sometimes a gal just has to throw herself a bit of a pity party in order to get past something. BUT, we do think that when whining becomes the habit, we put ourselves into a mental state of “poor me.” The mindset of “poor me” takes away any responsibility we have for our own happiness and presupposed that life just “happens to us.” Happiness is a series of small daily choices. We get up in the morning and we decided to work, play, eat healthfully, or whatever is on our agenda. We also chose what not to do. We decide not to steal, kill, cheat, lie or other vices. We make those choices in an instant. They are part of who we are. We can choose those things because we’ve practiced acceptable, beneficial behavior and because we know the consequences of making the wrong choices. Sometimes we learn by making the wrong choice. At that point, we can either give up or forgive ourselves, learn something and make new choices in the future.

Happiness is a series of small choices, beginning with gratitude for what is right in our lives and progressing to the confidence to make good choices daily and blanketed by the ability and willingness to forgive ourselves (and others) for stumbles along the way.

Who’s ready to take the “no whining zone” pledge in their own lives?
