Drop the Baggage | Queenisms

by Kathy Kinney
She decided to take all of the baggage she was hauling around from her childhood and heave it to the side of the road. It was time for her to let go of the past and begin living the life she was meant to live. – Queenisms™
We’ve each been carrying messages, experiences or just false assumptions with us since childhood. Some baggage was given to us. Some we picked up along the way. Some we carried for others. And, over the years we’ve gathered more. It’s time to leave those bags by the side of the path and walk away feeling the lightness that comes from relief.
What can you fling aside? We’ve decided to leave self-judgment by the wayside.  How about you?

As a young woman I always refused to carry another’s bags and I think it helped me to minimize my own…not to say I don’t have a few!! LOL

I’ve decided to leave performance by the wayside. My identity and worth are more than what I can “do” and what I “produce.” While I still enjoy being productive, it will no longer be for someone else’s approval or a way to seek value in other’s eyes. I think just being me is great and surely is more than good enough! Thanks for the thought provoking question. Always love your posts!

Queen Shelley, what a wonderful attitude. We love that distinction “While I still enjoy being productive, it will no longer be for someone else’s approval.” Boy, that’s the key and you are a wise Queen.

Queen Christal, you just made us giggle and that’s a good thing. It’s true, we all do have our own baggage, and the fact that you figured out not to pick up the baggage of others at such an early age shows great wisdom. Bravo.
