Enough | Fall in Like with You

by Kathy Kinney

At the end of the day she often felt like she hadn’t done enough.  She decided it was time to stop beating herself up for what she didn’t get done and to finally celebrate all the many things she did accomplish.  ~ Queenisms™

Let’s celebrate together by sharing one accomplishment we’d like to celebrate together. Then we can all give one another a “heck yes” round of applause.

good words for this time of year. we get ourselves so caught up in all the stuff we think we have to do, to make the holidays special, that we forget that all the little details only matter to us, and that we can choose what it is that we want to do, and what it is that we don’t. i realized this a couple of years ago, when i bought boxed stuffing and canned gravy for thanksgiving, as well as the canned cranberry sauce. my day was so much easier, and no one cared, because the dinner was delicious, and it’s “not about what’s on the table, it’s about what is on the chairs.”

One thing I have been able to celebrate every time I think about it is the fact that last year I lost 30 lbs and start eating healthier. Although I didn’t stick with the exercise program that helped me lose the weight, I have maintained my new weight (and healthy eating habits) for over a year by remembering to listen to my body, respect my body, and treat it nicer in general. I’ve started working out again and cooking more to reach my ultimate goal of being leaner, stronger, and more flexible. I still eat junk food once in a while, but every time I pass on chips for something healthy like yogurt or veggies, I give myself a little round of applause inside. 🙂 It’s a daily battle but the little victories feel huge!

As two women who have battled weight issues all our lives, we commend you for this positive change you’ve made and most of all for the continued way in which you keep supporting yourself with praise and applause. Very cool. Bravo from us, too!

Ain’t that the truth Susan? We get ourselves all worked up about the details and sometimes miss out on the big stuff–the relationships, the conversations, the smiles, the gift of their company. Thank YOU for that reminder.

Finishing my RN degree, running 3 marathons, becoming a Mom and doing it alone for most of the past 9 years, getting that home next to the ocean which I knew I had to have.

Claudia, you made us gasp with your courage, tenacity and will. You are a rock star.
