Get Out of Your Own Way | Royal Reminders

by Kathy Kinney

She used to think there was a rulebook for how to live life and that people were judging her for not doing it right. Now she knew that there was no right or wrong way to live. The only way she could fail was if she let her fear get in the way of doing what she needed to be happy. So she decided to get out of her own way. – Queenisms™

What “rules” have been holding you back Queens? Let’s rip up the rule book and skyrocket toward our dreams.

WOW!!!!! How true this is. spent almost my entire young adult and adult life thinking this was the way to do things. Many regrets. Trying now to change that and think of myself a bit more instead of everyone else. Not that it is bad to be kind but I find being kind to myself is something I just never did.

Cheryl, I agree wholeheartedly with you. I stayed in a marriage for 45 years that should have never happened. I stayed in it because I thought about everyone else and their feelings, when I should have been thinking of my own feelings and regrets. Well at 65 years of age and many years later, I am divorced and have moved to another state, where I’ve started a new life. Yes, it was difficult to leave my children and grandchildren. But life is short….especially at my age and I want some ‘Me’ time to do what makes me happy. It isn’t like I won’t see my children and grandchildren. I haven’t fell off the earth…..just moved to a new and exciting place, to be me and hopefully find what I’ve been missing in my life.

    Dear Ladies,
Thanks for sharing. I never participate in anything You have encouraged me to participate. I realise that I have been depressed for many years and due to getting in my own way and not being able to fine a brush to dust myself of. Something triggered this summer and I have decided to take a big risk and go out blazing in style if all goes belly up. with much minus in the bank I have decided to change everything like you Beatice although I cannot decide of where I want to live but that will come. For the first time in Years I feel there is a future and at 55 with no kids it feels good.
So to you all even if you have mega debts and feel that there is no hope if you get out of your own way you can gradually or suddenly see a path in the forest and feel the sunlight. Do not isolate yourself. If there is no one to go out with take yourself out for a coffee and talk to someone you do not know. It takes a long time to get there but there are so many Queens who are suck in the anti room and all we have to do is open the door with whatever we have to hand or foot!!
Thank you all for being there and sharing and caring.
    XXXXXXX yo you all
