Give Yourself Permission

Give Yourself Permission - Queenisms by Kathy Kinney and Cindy Ratzlaff

There were many things she wanted to do but fear of failure stopped her. It occurred to her there was something worse than trying and failing – it was reaching the end of her life and never having tried at all. She decided to give herself permission to take risks, fail, succeed and to enjoy every single minute of it. – Queenisms™

Safety and playing it safe are two different concepts. We must always be safe from harm and danger and we must do whatever it takes to keep ourselves and those in our charge safe. But think about the phrase “playing it safe” as being equal to “living small.” We are not meant to live small. We all have big life potential. And big life doesn’t mean the same to every person. For some a big life might mean our own home, a family, a rich social life and comfort. For others, a big life might mean sacrificing creature comforts to dedicate time and energy to helping those less fortunate. Both are big lives. Both are worthy. Both are important. The point here is that you have permission to create the life you dream of living. The path to that life might not be paved and easy to travel. The path might be obscured from view. The path might not even be a path. But it’s there and the choice of which path – of the unlimited options – you travel. Which will you choose?

  1. (My website is only a domaine name at this point)…Thank You for these wonderful words of wisdom. I started out wanting to be a Singer/Songwriter, but over the years and as I’ve gotten older I’ve lost the passion to continue. I still have the desire to use my voice and besides music, always loved comedy, acting and doing crazy voices. SO….I just completed my very first Voice Over demo for animation this past Sunday. I had quite a lot of anxiety(which comes up for me when I get out of my comfort zone), working with a crazy OUT THERE coach(who I don’t know that well, but really believes in living the dream!)I know that is will probably be the first of many(demos) as I move forward to create my dreams. Thank You Cindy and Kathy for helping Women everywhere believe that whatever they want to do..ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!!! xoxo

I read your inspiring messages and think wow if only I was like that. Well I found out last night that my children think I am and can do anything. I have cancer again and this time it is meant to be terminal. Ahhh what do they know! I was never properly educated and never had any self worth. No purpose, other than my children which of course are my first priority, and wouldn’t change it for the world. How ever there are online graduate courses I can do and I am going to have a go. I am going to find what my purpose is. I am going to have self worth. A wonderful opportunity to find out who I am. It is never too late as I am 51 yrs. I am very scared. Only my children, oh, and you now know. I am constantly what iffing it and you know what? I am feeling the fear and doing it anyway. I wish you all the joy of cliff diving off the edge in to the unknown. Enjoy the journey!

Queen Donna, we’re beginning a new daily practice. Every morning we’re going to begin the day with this phrase “Go, Donna, go!” You are a remarkable woman and sharing your story with us is a generous and kind act. Thank you.
