How to Be Lucky

People said she was lucky. She knew it was simply that she was the kind of woman who could walk through her fear one tiny step at a time. - Queenisms™

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Queens. We hear people say, all the time, “Oh she’s so lucky.” But what we know for sure (to borrow a phrase from Oprah herself) is that luck rarely has anything to do with happiness or success.

Luck is usually in the doing. Happiness comes from daily choices we make or don’t make. Joy comes from actively seeking and participating in activities or relationships that pay us back with joy. A fulfilling life comes from asking ourselves the tough questions and then taking action to make the changes required to bring about what we long for, in our hearts. Even winning the lottery requires buying a ticket. What are you doing to make people think you’re “lucky?”

I was told by a mentor long ago that every single morning when I wake up I need to make the decision about who I want to be, how I will face my day. I made the decision more than 8 years ago that I would be fabulous, and I tell myself that every single morning when I wake up. It took a long time before I started to believe it, but once I did, I didn’t look back!
I have always believed that I make my own luck. By working hard, helping others & focusing on my goals, I have been able to do incredible things during my life. Luck comes to those who work for it & believe that it will happen to them.

You’ve been very “lucky” to have such a mentor Queen Lisa. And the hard work you did to make your own luck is awesome.
