Sometimes she fell victim to other people’s unkind deeds or words. She promised to remember that the only opinion that mattered was her own. – Queenisms™
Ok, we admit it. We do care what other people think, occasionally. But we care so much more about what we think of our own actions, words and thoughts. Once we began minding our own opinions, we found that we were able to make choices based on our own values more easily. We second guessed ourselves less. We had fewer doubts and we were happier. Sometimes people hurt us, even still. But we’re able to recover more often and we don’t spend as much time trying to change their minds. We change ours instead. We re-evaluate our relationship with someone who would hurt us and if we think that behavior is a pattern, we remind ourselves that we have a higher opinion of ourselves than that.
