Pain and Change

When the pain of staying the same became greater than the fear of change, she took a giant leap forward. Then she gave herself a big hug. - Queenisms™

Nobody likes change. That’s the bottom line. Sometimes we get stuck in situations long past the time when they are helpful, joyful and good for us – all because we fear change. So what’s that all about. Usually it’s a lack of faith; faith in our ability to judge the situation, faith in our ability to do what must be done, faith in our resilience. Sometimes change is thrust upon us and not of our own choosing. Sometimes change is something we’ve pondered for a long time. The act of tearing ourselves away from the known to set out for the unknown is jarring, frightening and can be upsetting. But it can also be exciting, relieving, calming, and even joyful. Have you embarked upon change, either of your own choosing or not?

Five years ago I made a big change that I had pondered for many years. My only regret is I didn’t make the change sooner. It has been the best decision of my life!

  2. cindy says:

We hear that so often Queen Clara. We’re glad, however, that you did make the change and that it proved to be a wise decision!

  3. Donna Fisher says:

Thank You Queens for this Post!!
April 2013 the Bank took our Home of 30 yrs. We packed everything we could into a U-Haul, My Car & His Van. My Mother helped us settle near her & we Started Over! I was in Poor Health & he was stressed to the max but, every Day, every Month, every Quarter, & Each Year we have made Forward Progress! Change was Hard, but, Change was Needed & I AM Grateful for this Life Changing Adventure that’s not done yet!!!

  4. Rachl says:

Not knowing if letting go of a 3 year relationship is a good change. The pain is to hard to bear but it can only make me stronger.

  5. I’m in the midst of a change of my own choosing right now, and I’m filled with doubts and fears, and nearly turning back. Or would turning back with a new heart really be turning forward? In the labyrinth of life, there are no wrong turns, we are always moving to the center — at least that’s what I tell myself.

  6. cindy says:

Queen Katerine, we’re sending you extra hugs as you ask yourself these questions and listen for the answers. Your heart knows.

  7. cindy says:

No one can tell you what decision is the right one Queen Rachl, but if you have at least one agenda free friend, sometimes it helps to talk over the options with another person. If not, a neutral third party, like a counselor, can be really useful. Good luck. We’re sending you all our best.

  8. cindy says:

Congratulations to you Queen Donna. You’ve taken a big step toward leaving a massive stress behind you and focusing on the positive things life has to offer. This adventure will add to your personal basket of strength and someday it will be your hero story. Now it is your hero story in the writing. Love to you.
