Put on Your Wings and Fly | Summer of Self

by Kathy Kinney

She was the only thing that stood between her and the life she wanted. She peeked out from her shell and decided it was time for her to put on her wings and fly. – Queenisms™

What stands between you and your dreams?  If we stay in a safe place, sheltered and comfortable, we’ll never see the opportunities to truly fly that wait just outside our comfort zone. Let’s dare to fly. If not now, when?

    Dear Kathy and Cindy,
I can’t tell you how much your website and the wonderful quotes have helped me in the past months. I am just recently divorced after 46 years of marriage, I’ll be 66 years young in a month. I’ve uprooted from my family and friends and moved from one side of the country to the other…..to try to begin a new life.
When I get feeling down and wonder if I’ve done the right thing in moving, I read your website and feel so much better.
I have a wonderful reason to be living where I am right now……but, there’s that question in the back of my mind, asking if this is where I belong. My emotions are so mixed. I know that everything will fall in place soon.
Thank you for your wonderful words of wisdom and helping me get thru this new chapter in my life.
    Sincerely,
    Bernadette

    Bernadette,

Best wishes and you go girl! I am 47 and have been divorced twice. augh! I have moved every two years for the past 9 years. Once across the country and then back across two years ago! I have also eliminated some negative people from my life (mother, best friend).

I have found that if you have a hobby or something that you love and you joing a club or find others that enjoy that too, you have instant friends.

I recently bought a horse after two years without and I have met the nicest people at the barn where I board. The gal I bought the horse from and I had an instant friendship. I am looking forward to joining a riding club too and know I will meet people there.

I also enjoy my down time so am looking forward to living alone as my daughter just graduated from high school.

    Good luck to you!
    Jennifer

Queen Bernadette, Divorce is such an emotional roller coaster. Be very, very kind to yourself now. Having doubts about everything, at this time, is so natural. You have everything you need within you and you are in the place you are meant to be. And, as one of our dear friends once told us, there is always something more. May that “something more” bring you pure joy!
