Rest | The Battle for You

I don’t know about you but I don’t always sleep well.  It seems that the slightest thing wakes me up.  And, once up, I cannot get back to sleep.  But I still spend my day trying to solider through, and frankly it’s taking it’s toll.

I do not make good choices about food, exercise and who knows what else, when I’m tired.  And, I suspect the same is true for most people.  I know that exercise would help but I’m exhausted.  So I’m caught in a circle of exhaustion some days.

For today, I’m going to give myself permission to rest.  I’m going to put a half hour nap on my calendar and allow myself a moment to rest.  I would do the same for a small child.  Why is it so hard to do for myself?

Is there something going on in your life that you could change by giving yourself permission to take a break?  Let’s be our own friend today and give that permission.

    Boy, did I need to read this today. I didn’t sleep well at all last night. But whenever I take a “day off” from all the usual chores we do I feel so guilty. Why is that? As you say Queen Cindy we would certainly encourage anyone else to do it that was exhauasted.

    Part of my new reign is guilt free living regarding treating myself well. TIme to start praticing it today and just let things go a little today. I will follow your lead I think.
