Surfing the Waves of Turmoil | Summer of Self

by Kathy Kinney

Sometimes life was so difficult it was as if she were swimming against the tide. She decided it was foolish to fight the ocean. On occasion it was best to just relax and let the sun shine on her face. The answers would come. – Queenisms™

We like to think of this as surfing the waves. Instead of fighting the current or being sucked under the water by turmoil around us, we can learn when to swim and when to float.  And, sometimes putting on our crowns and surfing the waves is the best choice of all.

This is exactly what I needed to read today. So tired of fighting the waves.

Queen Karen, We like to think that floating, on occasion, is self care. If you’re caught in a rip current you’re suppose to relax and wait until the pull lessens, and only then swim parallel to the shore to get out of the pull of the current. So there are moments when doing nothing is the right thing to do. In fact, it’s not doing nothing. It’s active resting, staving off panic and faith that the pull will lessen.

    Thanks so much Cindy!
