Second Chances | The Battle for You

by Cindy Ratzlaff

There is something about a fresh notebook that absolutely thrills me; the blank pages, the pretty cover, the endless possibilities.  No matter how many notebooks I’ve already filled up with business notes or ideas yet to be acted upon or lists of things I need to do, I still feel the excitement and anticipation of a fresh start.

I’m in the process of starting something new, once again. And really, aren’t we all starting something new every single day?  I’m getting my pencils sharpened, laying out a brand new notebook, clearing off my desk and letting myself feel the joy of a fresh start.

We all deserve a second chance; sometimes over and over again.

Is there something you’ve wanted to do but haven’t yet done?  Why not join me.  Give yourself a second chance.

I have always wanted to write a book. I have lots of ideas, but no clear direction. I’d like to take a class or attend a writer’s workshop and see if I really do have that book inside screaming to get out….

Finding a workshop or a class is a great way to get that book out of your head and onto paper Queen Ava Marie. Having that support as you map it all out will keep you on track and help you with feedback.

  3. I have always wanted to go back to college. But I don’t want a long-distance type college experience, but the real thing – classrooms, professors and dialog! Hard to get when you are miles away from a college… sigh… but… maybe…

Queen Laura, what a great goal. We’re rooting for you and hope you can make this happen.

  5. Corinne says:

I want to draw. I know I can. I know I am good at it. Just from my few doodles for children or for myself. I know I can draw. So I want to do it. I gave myself a challenge – kind of an easy one but a challenge none-the-less. A friend of mine loves bird watching. She is from another state. I asked her what her favorite birds were and she wrote me a lovely message about the birds she sees and loves on a daily basis and one bird that showed up last year with a mate and stayed all summer. This year it showed up without the mate and then was never seen again.

So I googled this rare bird. It’s a beautiful blue shaded bird. My challenge is to print out my favorite Google Image of this bird and draw it for my friend for her birthday (maybe her birthday card…I will start small) on July 18th.

So I am going to draw. So sayeth the Queen of Curiosity (my Red Hat Society Queen name…which is really just another way of saying I am nosey…Ha Ha – Not really. I am a huge fan of Nancy Drew …hence the name).

Queen Corinne, What a wonderful plan. We love that you’ll be embracing your passion AND doing something so wonderful for a friend. The idea of creating a card with your beautiful drawing is brilliant. I hope you scan it and save the image so you can share with us all. We applaud you!
