Start Living Your Life | Queen of Your Own Life

by Kathy Kinney

It was time for her to start living the life she had always wanted to live. So she sent herself a reminder. – Queenisms™

Are you suffering from  “I’ll be happy when…” syndrome? Let’s plow through the excuses together and claim happiness now.

We must not put off our own lives. We all have things that stop us, however. I’ll be happy when. . . I’ll try that later. I’ll do that soon.

What’s stopping you from living life fully right now? Let’s name it, claim it and leave our excuses on the page.

I do not have enough money, Its my children’s turn their needs and desires come first

I have gotten on my own nerves with “I’ll be happy when…” My latest is the move I’ve made with my partner: we relocated this year because of her job to somewhere I’ve always wanted to live, & I am so not loving it at all! “I’ll be happy when…” is becoming “When are you going to be happy?” I was going to be happy when I got my dream job…I was going to be happy when we moved…I was going to be happy when we lived near the beach…I was going to be happy when we got more money…I’ve gotten all these things, though not the truckloads of money I’d REALLY be happy with, but not exactly in the package I imagined. I’ve always had to pull it up a notch in order to make my dreams fit my reality. It sounds stupid, I know, but I’m still having to pull myself out of this cycle. “I’ll be happy when…I can get off this damn ride & stop making myself & everyone around me crazy!”

We love “not in the package I imagined.” Brilliant and so true for all of us. Here’s to a calmer, more loving second half for all of us.

Queen Jenny, It really isn’t about money. It’s about a frame of mind. When we care for ourselves, we teach our children self-respect. Just one of the many lessons we teach them but such an important one if they are to ward off the many potholes life may throw in their paths.
