The Gift of Receiving | Queenisms

by KaThe Gift of Receivingthy Kinney

She had been taught to not ask for help. Now that she was older and much wiser she realized that giving AND receiving were two of the greatest gifts of life. With supportive, agenda free friends anything is possible. – Queenisms™We’ve been conditioned not to ask for help, support, praise or even love. We’ve bought into the myth that if we are worthy, those things will come to us without asking. Hogwash, we say! Our friends, family and loved ones are not mind readers. They need to know what we want and need or we have no business being upset when we don’t get it.  We won’t always get what we desire, but we’ll never get it if we don’t make our desires known. So sayeth the Queens.

Keeping what we want a secret only keeps a secret to ourselves. Where’s the gain in that? You two are the best! Thanks.

  2. Judy says:

Thanks ladies…a valuable lesson for all of us but especially to those of us in need of something we are afraid to ask for…I guess if we don’t speak the words they can’t be heard!

  3. Queen E. says:

this is so true to the point when you earn money we feel guilty for being paid what we are worth. thank you for reminding me. for awakening that truth!

  4. cindy says:

Queen E. you’d be stunned to know how many women share this anxiety. Asking for and then accepting being paid what our time and skills are worth is very exciting and worthy continuing to strive for. No one can ever pay you what you, yourself, are actually worth because you, my Queen, are priceless.

  5. cindy says:

So very true, Queen Judy. Sometimes we don’t speak the words because we haven’t even dared to let ourselves know what it is we long for. Saying them out loud is a powerful thing. We’re cheering for you to find your voice, through your heart.
