Waiting for Miracles | The Battle for You

by Cindy Ratzlaff

I visited a Butterfly Garden in Costa Rica. As I stepped into the garden, butterflies were everywhere and of course, the fluttered away from me as quickly as possible.  My movements and excitement kept them at bay.  But as I acclimated to the garden, I was able to slow down, relax, sit quietly and wait.

And, in that moment when I was quietest, it happened.  Several butterflies flew all around me and landed on me.  It was a wonderful feeling to have these beautiful, delicate creatures so close and I was thrilled.  You can watch the video here.

There are moments of beauty and real miracles all around us, every  day.  On occasion, we all need to slow down and wait for them to be revealed to us.  I’ll remember this visit to the butterfly garden for a long time and use the memory to remind myself to slow down, look around me and notice the beauty and miracles that are everywhere.

Is there something or someone or someplace that helps you slow down and see the beauty around you? Please share and know that in sharing your own story, you’re most likely helping someone else to see or remember their own beauty and miracles.

wow, last year when my butterfly bush bloomed, I would go outside, go slowly down the deck steps and take pics of the butterflies all around the bush. People think Im nuts because I talk very calmly to them and they stay around……I love the little things in life that make us look back and reflect or just pause for a moment

My daughter and I were in Costa Rica 7 years ago. Loved it and want to revisit. She had a massive stroke this Janiuary – Emma is only 22 years old. Paralyzed entire left side. We will go back to Costa Rica someday.. It is heaven in parts……….other parts a little scarey!

Our love to you and Queen Emma, Queen Pat and we hope you get back to Costa Rica soon.

  3. For me it used to be the beachs of the Central Coast of California ( Pismo Beach) I could shut out the world. Quiet my mind. Now it is a walking trail near my home , with living amongst concrete and asphalt it is hard to find areas of true nature, but this is close. The creek runs near by, flowers bloom all over, birds sing, and the “song” of wild turkeys is all about. Cute squirrels all over and lush greenery. How can one not be at peace there? True you can still hear traffic, and there is others enjoying the trail, but for brief moments you get pops of silence and that is when I can truly relax and get lost in the moment.

You painted such a beautiful picture Queen Stephanie, that I could truly see it. Finding that spot or moment where we can center ourselves and find a speck of peace is truly a gift.
