Wave Goodbye to Regret

Cindy Ratzlaff and Kathy Kinney blog and write books about claiming happiness in midlife at http://QueenofYourOwnLife.com. Alll of their affirmations and digital art are original.

She took one last look over her shoulder and waved goodbye to regret, fear and shame. Then she turned herself toward the sun and let out a whoop of joy to celebrate whatever came next.

When we’re constantly looking over our shoulders at the past, bogged down by regret and shame, we are unable to see the joy just around the next corner. We’d like to hear a resounding chorus of whooping from the Queendom. What comes next for you?

This is a real tough one for me. I worked so hard on a successful career all my life. It was my life. I thought I would never be old, could always improve and find the next job and then in 2008 the bottom fell out. This is not the life I wanted but I am finally adjusting to what I do have. I have a quote on a plaque on my kitchen wall from Theodore Roosevelt which I believe and focus on every day. “do what you can with what you have where you are”.

This is exactly where I am……and your words of encouragement are soooooo appreciated. Thank you.

You are right where you are suppose to be, Queen Pamela and we’re here with you. <3

Boy, oh boy do we ever understand. The same thing happened to Queen Cindy in 2007. It will never be the same but we just have to move forward. You sound, Queen Deborah, like you have the right mindset to do so.
