Who or What Inspires You?

by Cindy Ratzlaff

Is there someone in your life who inspires you and spurs you on to achieve more than you ever thought you could? We’d love to hear about that person. We think there is value in thinking about this and talking about it. We’re bombarded every moment of the day by negative news, terrifying predictions, sad stories of failure and bad choices. We’re all connected to the sensationalism that a 24/7 connected world feels the need to promote. We’ll confess, we tune in too. So let’s counteract that by pausing and making a list of people, acts or anything in our lives that inspires us and restores our hope.  We’ll begin. Press “More” to see what inspires Cindy.

The sight of tulips popping up through the snow makes us feel hopeful. We love knowing that someone took the time to plant a bulb in the fall and dared to believe that months later, something beautiful would bloom.  Now it’s your turn. Go.

I have been so blessed to have my best friend, Kass, in my life since the summer of 1975. We both graduated in 1977. We have always been there for each other, no matter what.
She is the one person in life I can go to and tell anything on my mind, and she loves me. Her encouragement has meant the world to me through the years as I was divorced twice, had my two children with her by my side. She is my rock. And as Queen of my Life, my royal decision: Kass is my Best Friend Forever.

Thanks to both of you Queens, for all the positive flow you send.

My older sister, Lynn is my inspiration. We were estranged for over 30 years and since we have reconnected she is my “Lady in Waiting”. She tellls it like is, and I can trust that she will always be truthful with my best interest at heart. My daily strength is received by her honesty, love and sense of humor. She pushes me to be “in charge” of my own life. She reminds me often that this is “Jean’s World” and I make the rules so make them so I can enjoy my life. I don’t know what I would do without her on my side.

Queen Jean, what a wonderful gift it is to have such a friend and then to have her be your sister? Wow. Thank you so much for sharing about Lynn and inspiring us, too!
