Your Story is Still Unfolding: Queenisms

Plot thickenedby Cindy Ratzlaff

The plot thickened and she sat bolt upright in her bed as she suddenly realized the truth. The story of her life was not yet complete. There was more and she was the author.  ~ Queenisms™

The feeling that life happens “to you” can be frustrating. We begin to feel out of control and fearful. And, the truth is that many things that occur in life are out of our control. But every decision we make impacts our future. The places we go, the people we associate with, the food we eat, the thoughts we nurture all impact what happens next. We increase our chances of happiness when we choose activities, friends and surroundings that nourish our happiness. We decrease our chances of happiness when we engage in destructive and none supportive behavior. Those things are in our control but changing our behaviors once we realize they are destructive is hard. We’d like to suggest baby steps. You?

This is so true…I can not change the fact that I have cancer or that I am now relapsing, but I can control how I deal with the news. To say that I am not scared would be a lie, but knowing that I am doing what I can do to make sure that I am getting the best care possible, is empowering. By being proactive in my care, I am empowering myself.

Your attitude and self-care now are top priority. We’re here to cheer for you! You are capable of this journey, even though you did not choose it.
