The Gift Of Laughter

She craved laughter and decided to give herself as much as she could get. She was delighted that it was calorie free. - Queenisms™

When you think about how easy it is to find laughter now in this world and how healing it can be, why not allow ourselves to have it more often.  There are TV and radio channels who are devoted to comedy and a massive collection of movies that have been made to just make us laugh.  From a giggle, a chuckle to a full out tears in your eyes belly laugh there is nothing as cleansing as having a good laugh.  It’s easily accessible, can be done legally alone or in a group and has zero calories.  What are we waiting for?

Celebrate Who You Are

She decided to stop trying to be who she wasn't and just celebrate who she was. - Queenisms™

Have you ever seen an ad on TV or in a magazine and thought if you used the product you would look or feel better or different?  Media advertisers are good – that’s why they pay them the big bucks to make us think we need the things they are selling.  The news bulletin here is there is no normal – not in beauty, body size or thoughts – and even if there was why would you want to be like everyone else.  It’s time for us to begin celebrating who we really are!

You’re Stronger Than You Imagine

She hadn't an inkling what the future held. Yet she showed up and was delighted to find she was stronger and more resourceful than even she imagined. - Queenisms™

Here’s a dose of common sense we all need to hear on occasion – life is going to happen and there is nothing we can do about it so why waste time worrying about it now?  When we are always waiting for the other shoe to drop we miss so much that is happening right now.  Also, you may have noticed, but worrying doesn’t solve a thing.  It’s just a bad habit we fall into and then don’t take the time to get out of.  It’s easier than you think to make the conscious choice not to worry and aren’t you worth it?

Walking Through Your Fears

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017

One day she realized that ignoring her problems didn't make them go away - it just made them last longer. So she decided to walk through her fear and face each problem very slowly, one at a time. She was so much stronger and braver than she realized. - Queenisms™

Living A Vivid Life

She had made a decision to live a vivid life. No one could ever accuse her of being boring. - Queenisms™

It really boils down to the choice of keeping your light hidden or just letting it shine.  Sometimes we tell ourselves silly stories about not being bright, worthy or valuable.  The truth is we all have so much to offer the world and it’s foolish to think we don’t.  When we finally make the decision to simply be ourselves we open the door to a life of happiness and adventure…and who doesn’t want that?  We doubt anyone would ever accuse you of being boring!

Open The Door To Adventure

Monday, February 20th, 2017

She was done waiting for the world to come to her. She decided to open the door to adventure, confident that she was woman enough to handle and enjoy it all. – Queenisms™

We have all spent a lot of time waiting for things to be perfectly aligned – but what if that never happens?  Waiting for life to happen is one way to do it but how about running out and meeting life head on?  When you eliminate fear of failing how far can you go?  We decided a long time ago that at the end of our lives we wanted to know that we had worked hard, laughed hard, made a difference and created a life of great adventure.  We believe you are woman enough to fling open the door to a fun and fulfilling life.

Why Not Treat Yourself?

We all have lists as long as our arm of things that simply “must” be done.  We balance family, work and health like a professional juggler in the center ring of the circus.  Taking a small mental health vacation is a vital piece of the puzzle.  It would be nice to fly away and sun bathe on a tropical island (slathered in sun screen of course) but how about a quiet weekend at home with a good book.  Some of our favorite mini vacations are a long old black and white movie marathon or taking ourselves out to lunch and a block buster move or a long walk in the woods.  What is your favorite mini vacation?

Your Time to Stand Out

She didn't see any good reason why she shouldn't resist the urge to conform, blend in or fade away. - Queenisms™

When we were in junior high and high school it was the norm to try and fit in and be one of the crowd.  Now that we’re older it we can’t imagine why we wanted to do that.  Being yourself is such a gift and frees you up to enjoy yourself and your life.  Instead of being quiet or blending in why not share what you think.  What a good day to be what you are – a bold, colorful, valuable woman with a lot to offer.

Pick Yourself Up and Try Again

Wednesday, February 15th, 2017

Things hadn't worked out. So she gave herself 15 minutes to mope, sigh and mutter, "Poor me." After that she was going to pick herself up and try again. - Queenisms™

Life throws things to overcome into our path all of the time.  If we stay in bed under the covers we lose – and life wins.  It’s okay to pull the cover over our heads for a while, everybody does it, but it’s how fast we toss them back and get out of bed that is the sign of recovery, courage and strength.  Fall down, get up; fall down, get up faster; fall down, stand up tall with a smile on your face and move gracefully on.

It’s Okay To Not Be Perfect

Tuesday, February 14th, 2017

By realizing that it was okay to not be perfect, she grew stronger every day. - Queenisms™

We believe that perfectionism can be fatal to fun.  When you get buried under the details of creating a perfect event or perfect life you lose track of what’s really important – love and friendship!  We’re not talking about trying to do the best job you can at all times.  Instead we’re talking about making the plan, doing your darnedest and then letting go so you can enjoy it.  We think life wasn’t meant to be so hard.  What do you think?
