Being the Queen of Balance

Sometimes she zigged and sometimes she zagged but she always showed up and gave it her best shot. That made her the Queen of balance. - Queenisms™

Perfection is one of those afflictions that is often fatal where fun and good self esteem are concerned.  We think they should give you a nice shiny medal just for showing up and doing the best you can because, honestly, you can’t do any more than that!  Life has a huge learning curve so if sometimes you zig and then sometimes you zag don’t beat yourself up.  Life has a way of balancing itself and so you already are the Queen of balance.

Celebrate Your Life

She decided to celebrate life all day long. – Queenisms™

Have you ever really celebrated the gift of being alive? We mean actually let go of your cares and worries – real and imagined – and just spent the whole day allowing yourself to feel joyful about breathing air and being part of the world?  We know what you’re thinking – the world is a mess, the mortgage or rent is due and you work with a  major jerk.   Newsflash – the world and your life will never be perfect but that doesn’t mean you can’t allow yourself the gift of joy.  Start small by celebrating life for an hour and build up to a whole day.  You deserve it.

Give Yourself a Time Out

We love the idea of giving yourself a time out!  We’ve all had that moment where we are beyond overwhelmed and one more thing happens then – twang – the last nerve is plucked!  Option one: total melt down leaving verbal damage and damaged relationships in your wake.  Option two: take a time out, just excuse yourself and walk away, walk around the block, sit in your car in the driveway with the spa channel on or lie on your bed face down screaming into your pillow.  What a perfectly delightful chance to use your power of choice.

Determination to Get What You Want

She wasn't where she wanted to be but she was sure on her way. She had determination. And, she liked that about herself. - Queenisms™

There’s nothing wrong with immediate gratification but, in the end, it is progress and not perfection that will get us to where we want to go.  After all, it’s more about how we make the journey than what the destination is.  Keeping determination, kindness and love in balance is a life long struggle but will ultimately lead us on an adventure that we can be proud of.  Don’t you think there’s a lot to be said for holding your head high as you lead an honorable life.

Crown Yourself Queen

She was the only one who could crown her the Queen of her own life. So she did. It felt good to be queen. - Queenisms™

It always seemed that we were looking for someone else to take care of us, give us power, change our lives.  It could be all of the fairy tales we were read as children.  Who can forget all of the girls waiting for the prince to come along, kiss them, save them and then make them princesses.  In truth it’s the Queen who has the power to change the world and make it a better place for herself and everyone around her.  It’s her choice to claim that power because no one is going to give it to her. Isn’t it time to crown yourself the Queen of your own life?

Letting Go Of Negativity

She decided to stop hanging on to negativity and instead made the choice to let it pass right through her. She had finally realized that life didn't have to be so hard. - Queenisms™

It’s so easy to believe that everything would be perfect if we were richer, thinner, younger or prettier but it’s this faulty thinking that we need something more that  keeps us trapped in our own lives.  Letting go of negative thoughts and negative people in our lives is a choice, and it’s a choice we get to make every day.  If you’ve fallen into the bad habit of negativity isn’t it time to make the choice to live a different way?  Life really doesn’t have to be so hard.

Creating a Fun Life

Life was so much more fun with a smile and a crown. She was the Queen of Her Own Life. - Queenisms™

It’s hard to believe that we can truly have a life filled with happiness and joy but it’s really just a few choices away.  Of course life can be difficult at times but it’s our choice of how to handle these situations that give us the quality of life we want.  Making the choice to live life with positivity simply requires practice.  Next time something happens and your start to think why is this happening to me, try making the choice of saying, “Here’s a new adventure – it’s not something I wanted to happen but I’m going to try and make the best of it and see what I can learn.”

It’s Okay To Not Be Perfect

We believe that perfectionism can be fatal to fun.  When you get buried under the details of creating a perfect event or perfect life you lose track of what’s really important – love and friendship!  We’re not talking about trying to do the best job you can at all times.  Instead we’re talking about making the plan, doing your darnedest and then letting go so you can enjoy it.  We think life wasn’t meant to be so hard.  What do you think?

Get Your Glow On

Monday, January 23rd, 2017

She wanted to show the world who she really was - a smart, funny, quirky, imperfect and completely adorable woman. It was time for her to get her glow on. - Queenisms™

Is there anything more boring than someone who is trying to be perfect?   Being yourself – smart, funny, quirky, imperfect and completely adorable is a wise choice to make.  Instead of trying to be something you’re not or trying to be like someone you see on TV or in magazines, life is so much easier when you embrace the silly, fun you!  Being yourself gives you a glow that will shine bright.

Brand New Chance

Fresh new day. Brand new chance. She took a breath and stepped out into the world. – Queenisms™

It’s so easy to feel trapped in our lives but the truth is we are always just one choice away from making a change for the better.  We’re not saying it’s aways easy but we are saying that you have a lot more options than you realize.  Often it starts with the language we use when we talk about ourselves or our lives.  We’ve learned that negative attracts negative and that when we practice using positive language about and to ourselves the world begins to change for the better.  We believe that each day is a fresh start and a new chance to become the woman we long to be.  Do you agree?
