Celebrate Who You Are

She decided to stop trying to be who she wasn't and just celebrate who she was. - Queenisms™

Have you ever seen an ad on TV or in a magazine and thought if you used the product you would look or feel better or different?  Media advertisers are good – that’s why they pay them the big bucks to make us think we need the things they are selling.  The news bulletin here is there is no normal – not in beauty, body size or thoughts – and even if there was why would you want to be like everyone else.  It’s time for us to begin celebrating who we really are!

Living A Vivid Life

It really boils down to the choice of keeping your light hidden or just letting it shine.  Sometimes we tell ourselves silly stories about not being bright, worthy or valuable.  The truth is we all have so much to offer the world and it’s foolish to think we don’t.  When we finally make the decision to simply be ourselves we open the door to a life of happiness and adventure…and who doesn’t want that?  We doubt anyone would ever accuse you of being boring!

Open The Door To Adventure

Monday, February 20th, 2017

She was done waiting for the world to come to her. She decided to open the door to adventure, confident that she was woman enough to handle and enjoy it all. – Queenisms™

We have all spent a lot of time waiting for things to be perfectly aligned – but what if that never happens?  Waiting for life to happen is one way to do it but how about running out and meeting life head on?  When you eliminate fear of failing how far can you go?  We decided a long time ago that at the end of our lives we wanted to know that we had worked hard, laughed hard, made a difference and created a life of great adventure.  We believe you are woman enough to fling open the door to a fun and fulfilling life.

Why Not Treat Yourself?

We all have lists as long as our arm of things that simply “must” be done.  We balance family, work and health like a professional juggler in the center ring of the circus.  Taking a small mental health vacation is a vital piece of the puzzle.  It would be nice to fly away and sun bathe on a tropical island (slathered in sun screen of course) but how about a quiet weekend at home with a good book.  Some of our favorite mini vacations are a long old black and white movie marathon or taking ourselves out to lunch and a block buster move or a long walk in the woods.  What is your favorite mini vacation?

Your Time to Stand Out

She didn't see any good reason why she shouldn't resist the urge to conform, blend in or fade away. - Queenisms™

When we were in junior high and high school it was the norm to try and fit in and be one of the crowd.  Now that we’re older it we can’t imagine why we wanted to do that.  Being yourself is such a gift and frees you up to enjoy yourself and your life.  Instead of being quiet or blending in why not share what you think.  What a good day to be what you are – a bold, colorful, valuable woman with a lot to offer.

Show The World What You’re Made Of

Monday, February 13th, 2017

She looked in the mirror, made eye contact with herself and said, "I love you. I always have and I always will. Now let's go show them what we're made of!" - Queenisms™

Glancing in the mirror is something we do a lot during the day to make sure our hair isn’t standing on end or that we don’t have some lettuce stuck in our teeth.  But, when is the last time you actually stopped,  made eye contact with yourself and said how you feel about yourself?  We know it sounds corny but it can be very powerful.  Why not give it a try and see what comes up for you.  It’s a great way to focus on what’s really important, which is you.

When Life Kicks You In The Pants

Friday, February 10th, 2017

She decided that when life kicked her in the pants she was going to kick it back. - Queenisms™

There are many times in our lives when we wanted to stay home in bed with the covers over our head.  Unfortunately, that usually just makes matters worse by prolonging the inevitable.  We think wallowing for a bit is necessary but the healthy part is how quickly you let it go and what you do when you stand up.  You can get knocked down and spring back up again until the cows come home.  You are so much more resilient than you know. We really like that about you.

Never Let Yourself Down

Wednesday, February 8th, 2017

She had promised to take care of herself and to never let herself down. She was the Queen of her own life and she was willing to work hard to keep that promise. Queenisms™

It seems like a no-brainer that we would take care of ourselves but making yourself a promise to do just that is a great way to focus your energy on being good to yourself.  It always feels so good to know that there are family and friends who support you but, in the end, knowing that you have your own back is the best safety net of all. It takes a little work but you are worth it.

Stop Punishing Yourself

Monday, February 6th, 2017

Sometimes, to get it all done, she felt like she was moving faster than the speed of light. She decided to take a few moments during the day to stop and think about how much she had accomplished rather than punish herself for how much was left to do. Queenisms™

Taking a few moments during the day to give yourself some positive feedback about what you’ve accomplished is a good way to calm down and relax.  Sometimes it’s hard to realize how much you’ve already done if your too busy worrying about what you still have to do.  We believe that perfectionism can be harmful to our health and learning to let go a little bit is worth the herd of dust bunnies under the bed.

You Are Resourceful

Life often gave her lemons. So she made lemonade, lemon merengue pie, lemon baked chicken, and lemon blueberry cupcakes. Experience had made her a very resourceful woman. - Queenisms™

We’ve all had good event that we’ve looked forward to turn into something really difficult and on the other hand, something we were dreading turned out to be easy and maybe even fun.  In our lives we’ve stopped labeling experiences as good or bad – it’s all just life.  So when the lemons start rolling in just accept them because life is so much easier and a lot more fun with a positive outlook.
