Fearless In Life

Most of us carry around a number of scars from failing at love, life and career.  And learning from those experiences certainly adds to our growing stash of common sense but do we let those old wounds get in the way of living our lives to the fullest.  Letting go of old fears and showing up every day willing to give and receive love, friendship and joy is what makes life an adventure worth living.  It takes a little practice to not take life so personally and to let go of fear but it is so worth it.

Dream Big

Knowing that she could survive both failure and success made it possible for her to dream big. - Queenisms™

A few years ago we took a close look at our fears and found out we were afraid to fail, afraid to succeed, afraid to live and afraid to die.  It kind of limited our choices and made for a very narrow world!  We’d had failures and successes and were still alive to tell the tale so there was no reason to think we couldn’t survive it again!  We decided to work on letting go of our fears one tiny step at a time and and instead think of ourselves as resilient women leading a bold adventure.  It just makes so much sense.  Don’t you agree?

Permission Granted

There were so many things she wanted to do but fear of failure always stopped her. She decided to give herself permission to take risks, fail, succeed and to enjoy every single minute of it. - Queenisms™

It has always been our belief that failure is not anywhere near as bad as never trying at all.  Getting over fear is not just black and white, it’s about giving yourself permission to take the risk and then letting yourself enjoy the process.  Life is about making mistakes, learning and then getting over them – we all do it. Success alway seems so much sweeter when you have failed a bit along the way.  Don’t you agree?

You’re Doing The Best You Can

Saturday, October 29th, 2016

Some days there was so much to do she wished she could clone herself. Then she realized she was just one woman, doing the best she could. And, jeepers, that would have to be good enough. - Queenisms™

When we finally accepted the truth that we were just human beings doing the best we could, we gave a sigh of relief.  We believe that being perfect and being a human being do not mix!  We try every day to do the best we can and but now, when we fall short, we don’t beat ourselves up.  Because, jeepers, life doesn’t have to be so hard!  Right?

Stop Beating Yourself Up

It was time for her to stop beating herself up for those shortcomings that only she could see. – Queenisms™

Looking at your life with a huge magnifying glass never works out to your advantage!  We knew a woman who spent her time walking backwards all through high school so that no one would notice how big her bottom was!  The truth was that her bottom was no bigger than anyone else but her faulty thinking made her think it was the size of a Toyota 4×4.  We made the choice to stop focusing on what we thought were our flaws and start focusing on what we were good at – being strong, loving, kind women who knew how to be a good friend.  What are you good at?

All You Can Do Is Your Best

She always felt like she never did enough. One day she remembered a quote someone had read to her, “All you can do is the best you know how.” She decided to stop beating herself up for what she didn’t know and start enjoying herself the way she was. It was a good decision. - Queenisms™

Trying to be perfect is not compatible with being a human being!  Sometimes we have so many things we think we need to accomplish each day in order to feel good about ourselves.  The truth is we can be happy without being perfect.  Here’s what we do – if you have 5 things you think you need to get done – let go of 2 of them and spend the free time enjoying your friends and family.  Letting go of perfection is always a good decision.

Stuck, not Stopped – Queenisms

Monday, August 12th, 2013

Stuck not stoppedWhen you feel stuck, don’t make the mistake of thinking you are out of options. Being stuck is not the same as being stopped. Sometimes you need to step back, turn to the left or right, and move forward on a new path. Have you ever had to side-step in order to move forward?
