Beautiful No Matter How Old

Beauty is beauty no matter what the age or how many wrinkles. - Queenisms™

Beauty is beauty no matter what the age or how many wrinkles. – Queenisms™

It might be old and corny but it’s still the truth – beauty comes from the inside.  Advertising wants us to believe that we can only be beautiful if we’re young, slim and have gorgeous hair but it’s simply not true.  There is such an achingly powerful beauty that shines through the eyes and face of a woman who has kept her sense of humor, and no matter how many times she’s been hurt, can still give and receive love.  When you are beautiful on the inside you are always gorgeous on the outside.

Happy New Year from Queen of Your Own Life!

We believe it’s more fun to be on the adventure of life together than to be alone.  Our lives are so much better because you are in them.  Here’s to 2017 – another year of  peace, love, friendship and support for all of us.  Love, Cindy and Kathy

A Medal of Honor

Monday, November 21st, 2016

For getting out of bed every day, and showing up for life with courage, humor and hope, You are hereby awarded this medal of honor.

For getting out of bed every day, and showing up for life with courage, humor and hope, You are hereby awarded this medal of honor.

Some days, getting out of bed and getting dressed is the hardest thing we do.  The world has a way of smacking us around and sapping all of our self-esteem on a daily basis.  A lot of times it just seems easier to stay in bed with the covers pulled over our heads – but we never do that.  We not only get up and get dressed but we also comb our hair AND brush our teeth.  We do it because there are people that we love who depend on us and because we care about ourselves.  We know how much courage it takes to show up everyday with humor in tact and a smile on your face and that’s why we are awarding you this medal.

You Are A Warrior Queen

We’ve had many jobs through the years but our main job has always been how to become the best woman we know how to be.  We’ve worked harder on this goal then on anything.  We believe that all of the things we feared in childhood are still a part of us and color how we view the world today.  It requires work and vigilance to let go of these fears and the decisions we made then about how to protect ourselves – that are no longer valid.  We are all the brave, bold warrior Queens of our own lives and we’re grateful to have you on the journey with us.

Not The Queen Of The Whole World

She vowed to keep in mind that she was not the Queen of the whole world but simply the Queen of her own life. Yep, two entirely different jobs! - Queenisms™

If we had a nickel for every time we felt responsible for every single thing in our lives – we would be extremely wealthy!  We wanted to live lives full of love, fun and joy but our need to trying make every thing just right, was putting the kibosh on our plans.  We started setting priorities – always putting ourselves on the top of the list because we knew that taking care of ourselves was the best example to everyone around us.  The Queen can’t be available to help others in her life unless she takes care of herself.

Someone To Watch Your Back

It was good to have someone you trust to watch your back. – Queenisms

We’ve had lots of friends through the years.  There have been some who have betrayed us, some who have wanted things from us and then there are the friends who are agenda free.  Agenda free means a friend who loves you no matter what – if you gain weight, lose weight, drink too much, get really successful or fail in a huge and spectacular way.  A trusted, agenda free friend is someone to cherish and hold dear.  If you have one it’s a good time to let them know how grateful you are that they are in your life.  If you don’t have one please don’t give up looking because there is one or two or even more, out there waiting to meet you. It’s never too late to find a good friend.  Don’t you agree?

Treat Yourself With Kindness

In the past we’ve been kinder to total strangers than we have been to ourselves!  We are always available with a kind word or gesture to family and friends but the truth is we have often put ourselves at the bottom of the list.  We decided it was time to treat ourselves with kindness and encouragement because if we didn’t do it, how would others know how to treat us!  We wanted to send a message to ourselves and others that we were loved and cherished.  The simple gift of a flower bought, or cut from the garden, says it all.  Don’t you deserve to give yourself a gift today?

When She Set Her Mind to Something

Tuesday, August 18th, 2015

When she set her mind to something, there was no stopping her. Period. - Queenisms™

When she set her mind to something, there was no stopping her. Period. – Queenisms™

You are stronger, wiser, braver and more capable than you know. When you set out to do something purposefully, you are more likely to succeed than when you say “well, I’ll try.” Need to get dinner ready when you’re feeling poorly? You do it. Need to get a sick child the care they need? You do it. You do what is necessary and important without fail. So following your dreams, making your heart’s desire into reality is no different. If it is truly important to you, most of the time you can make it happen. What is important to you? Let’s share and inspire one another. Our goal? Launch our new 2016 calendar and book this fall with gusto and continue to reach new people with our daily messages. Let’s try this. Every time you catch yourself thinking or saying “I’ll try,” stop and rephrase to “This is important to me. I will do this.” We’d love to hear your experience.

Be transformed

She was learning to offer herself the same unconditional love she showered on others. And she felt transformed. - Queenisms™

She was learning to offer herself the same unconditional love she showered on others. And she felt transformed. – Queenisms™

We have the capacity for great, deep love. Many of us experience this kind of unconditional love for our children and/or our pets. We don’t judge them. We just love them. Can we not do the same for ourselves? Let’s dig deep this week and practice giving ourselves pure, unconditional love and support in our actions and in our words – to and for ourselves. When we do what’s right for us, we do what’s right for everyone around us because we fill up our own well and are able to be a source of strength for others. Loving yourself is not selfish. It’s selfless.

Daydreaming is for Queens

We think daydreaming is important. We think letting your mind wander can reveal the variety of choices, paths or options available to you every day. We believe there is always a new choice to make, a new adventure ahead and those big ideas need quiet reflection in order to come into full blossom. Won’t you give yourself the gift of a little time to daydream today? And please, oh please, don’t tell us you don’t have time. You do. When we’re rushed, we take two minutes (the length of 4 television commercials) to sit quietly and let our minds wander. Most of the time, before we get out of bed in the morning or when we’ve just gotten into bed at night. You can do this. Let your mind wander. Daydreaming is for Queens.
