Hello To Your Future

Living a life full of regrets for things we “would’ve, should’ve, could’ve” done is not fun or productive.  Letting go of past choices and moving on does require a bit of practice but the results are so worth it – you are worth it!  All the choices we have made and the experiences that we’ve had because of them, have made us the women we are right now.  And, what we have learned and the courage we have gained makes it possible for us to keep moving forward to make better and more positive choices today and in the future.

Everything You Need To Have A Great Life

What do you think you need before you can be happy?  We met a woman once who wanted to be a print model but didn’t have any teeth and was unable to make herself go to the dentist. We explained to her that she needed to get out of her own way and slowly but surely start making different choices. It’s habit to get in our own way and it’s a simple positive choice to move forward towards the life we deserve and want.

Courage For Us All

We have already been tested many times in our lives and survived and there is no reason to believe that we won’t be able to continue to do so. The quandary is how to do it without letting it all damage our spirit. So it’s important to remember that it’s the hard times that take off the rough edges and polish us to a beautiful shine.   And, the light from that shine comes from within and shows us and those around us a woman who is loving and kind as well as brave and resilient.

Good News – Still Here

We used to live in fear that the other shoe was going to drop, and then it did, and we’re still here!  In life, the other shoe drops a lot, and while it’s not very fun, we always handle it and move on.  We made the choice to practice letting go of  the fear by reminding ourselves daily that we are so much stronger, braver and resilient than anyone – including ourselves knows!  We believe that it’s not just about being the Queen of your own life but knowing that you are the Warrior Queen.  We believe we are worth fighting for and we know you are as well.

She Took Very Good Care Of Everyone But Herself

Monday, August 29th, 2016

She took very good care of everyone but herself. So one day she looked in the mirror and said to herself, “ I really do love you and I promise I’m going to start taking better care of you from this moment on.” - Queenisms™

We try and wring every moment from every day as we attempt to try and finish all the things we feel we need to complete.  Sometimes at the end of the day we were ready to just keel over and slip into a coma!  We made the decision to put ourselves on the top of the list because if we don’t take care of ourselves, we can’t help anyone else.  Think about it – your not being selfish – your being wise!

She Had A Ph.D. In Resilience

Every experience in our lives has been a skill building block. And one of our greatest skills has been resilience. We have survived everything that life has thrown our way and we’re still standing – and with smiles on our faces!  The secret for us is we hang on to our sense of humor very tightly.  We also rely on trusted friends to lend us an ear when we need to talk.  Remember you’re never too old to make a new friend.  Why not give it a try?

Laughter Is The Best Medicine

One of the many things that we are grateful for in our lives is maintaining our sense of humor.  Life has a way of pulling the rug out from under us when we least expect it and being able to find humor in every situation is the thing that keeps us going.  We always take the time to feel our feelings like grief, sadness or anger but we have found that the balm for these hurts is a good strong belly laugh.  Put on your comedian glasses, find the giggles in your life and see if you don’t feel better.

Life Doesn’t Have To Be So Hard – It’s Your Choice

Wednesday, August 17th, 2016

She decided to stop hanging on to negativity and instead let it pass right through her. It was her choice. Life didn’t have to be so hard. - Queenisms™

We used to worry about every single thing that happened in our lives.  When we walked around there was a little gray cloud of negativity floating just above our heads!  It was hard find joy in anything when we were practicing our hobby of being worrywarts.  In the end we made the choice to change because we just didn’t want to live that way anymore.  We were smart women who wanted more from life than worry and negativity. So instead we imagine that negativity is passing right through our bodies, down into our feet and passing right into the ground where it becomes good fertilizer for the grass.  Give it a try, it’s your choice –  life doesn’t have to be so hard!

Each Day A Brand New Adventure

She decided to remind herself every morning, “This day is the beginning of a brand new adventure.” - Queenisms™

Sometimes faulty thinking makes us feel trapped in our lives. Does that ever happen to you?  The feeling that everything will always be the same and no matter what you do your life won’t get better.  When we wake up we have a choice – lie in bed and feel hopeless or hit the “reboot” button.  The difference between hopelessness and being in a positive place is simply our choice.  So in the morning when we wake up we remind ourselves that today is the start of a brand new adventure.  We are awake and ready for whatever comes our way.  Give “positive choice” a chance and let us know how it’s working for you.

Your Opinion Is What Matters

Learning to not take life so personally is a lesson we learn and then have to practice over and over again.  Somedays our self-esteem is shakier than others and all it takes is a raised eyebrow or a roll of the eyes by a friend, family member or co-worker and we’re feeling bad about ourselves.  In the end it doesn’t really matter what anyone else thinks of us because it’s only our opinion that truly matters.  We promise ourselves to not forget that again.  It takes practice but it’s worth it and we know you can do it.
